UFC Fight Pass Invitational 8 took place on October 10th, 2024 and the promotion put together an excellent card that delivered some great results for the fans. The event started out with some very close matches, as the first four on the card were all decided by points in overtime. It wasn’t until Raquel Canuto took to the mats that we were treated to the first submission finish, as she managed to get an upset win over Gabrielle McComb by locking up a rear-naked choke in overtime. Things really picked up from there, as the very next match saw Dante Leon hit an incredibly quick arm-in guillotine to submit Andy Varela.
Ronaldo Junior vs Isaque Bahiense was up next and they went into overtime as well, but Junior secured a slick anaconda for the win. That meant it was time for the co-main event and it was another big upset, as Renato Canuto took the lead in his series with PJ Barch by submitting him with a heel hook. The only match left was the main event and it was the most hotly-anticipated of the night, with Nicky Rodriguez facing a new challenge from Michael Pixley. It was a textbook performance from Rodriguez with multiple times and his patented bodylock passing being used to great effect, before he eventually got the finish with a rear-naked choke.
