Subversion: Anarchy will take place on July 19th, 2025 and the promotion has just announced a pair of title-fights to finish off an excellent lineup. They’ve quickly become one of the top grappling promotions in Australia and some of the best grapplers in the country are travelling to compete on the show. Before any titles are even on the line, there’s plenty of exciting superfights too. Robert Degle is one of the biggest names on the card and he has plenty of experience at Subversion too, as he’s coming into this with a 2-0 promotional record. He faces Absolute MMA veteran Aaron Maher, and both men are on the hunt for a shot at a title.
The first title-fight of the night will take place after that and Subversion will crown their first women’s bantamweight champion in it. The vacant title is up for grabs as two of the promotion’s most experienced female grapplers will be meeting on the mats. Olivia Ukmar has a 3-1 record at Subversion and her sole loss came in a flyweight title-fight with Adele Fornarino at Subversion: Reign. Standing opposite Ukmar is Sirena Allen De-Guzman, who still holds an undefeated promotional record. She’s won all three of her Subversion matches and has earned this title-shot with some really impressive performances, but Ukmar represents her toughest test yet.
Then in the main event, Josh Saunders and Nico Maglicic will be meeting in a heavyweight title-unification match. Saunders is the reigning champion and he’s held the belt since Subversion: Ascension almost two years ago. He wasn’t able to defend it recently though, which is why the interim title was created. That’s where Maglicic came into the picture, as he defeated Declan Moody by decision at Subversion: Conquest to win it. Saunders is not only bigger than Moody but he’s also managed to have a deeper run the last time they competed at the same event, ADCC 2024. This matchup is an interesting clash of styles and although Saunders is the favorite, Maglicic has all the skills necessary to spring a surprise on him.
The full Subversion: Anarchy lineup, including both title-fights, were announced in a series of posts to the promotion’s official Instagram account:
