Combat Sports Coverage Grappling is gearing up for an epic CSC 28 on August 3rd, 2024. This high-stakes grappling tournament promises intense action, featuring the 16 of the best male grapplers and 8 of the best female grapplers from all around the nation. These fierce competitors will battle it out on inside an MMA Cage with the ultimate goal of securing the title and cash prize. Whether you’re a seasoned grappling enthusiast or a newcomer to the sport, this is something you don’t want to miss. CSC Grappling promises an unforgettable day of fierce battles on the mats. Tickets are available to watch in person or it can be streamed live worldwide on FloGrappling.

Sixteen elite grapplers from around the country will gather for this ultimate test of skills and heart, and here are our top picks to win it all:

Combat Sports Coverage 28 Tournament Lineups

Women’s under 125lbs Tournament

Top 5 Female Contenders:
  • Lauren Sears – Current CSC 115lb & 125lb Brown belt champion, 6-0 (5 subs).
  • Vitoria Assis – IBJJF Pans and Euros medalist.
  • Kiaya Jackson – PGF champion and multiple-time Medusa finalist.

Rounding out the tournament bracket is a group of high level MMA fighters and grapplers like Taylor Glick, Martina Zola, and Melanie Iverson. 

Men’s Under 185lbs Tournament

  • Austin Oranday –  High level black belt & BJJ champion level black belt
  • Miguel Costa  – High level black belt & BJJ champion level black belt
  • Ataide Rafael – CSC team dual champion, 3-0 (3 subs)
  • Nick Ortiz – Former CSC tournament champion
  • Caleb Crump – Former CSC cash bracket winner

The dark horses – Nick Mataya, Henriquez Camargo, Malik Belhai

Rounding out the tournment bracket is a group of high level MMA fighters and grapplers Michael Cruz, Pedro Rubim, Caleb Yonkers, Josh Richards, Ruben Alaniz, Gabriel Weaver, and Jake Christensen.

The Format

These fierce competitors will battle it out on the mats for 6 minutes with a 2 minute overtime round showcasing their technical prowess, strength, and strategy. Each match will be a test of skill, with the ultimate goal of claiming victory and securing a spot in the finals. The finals will be a 10 minute match with both grapplers battling for supremacy. Expect explosive takedowns, slick submissions, and heart-pounding moments as they try to win the title and cash prize.

The stakes are high, and the $1,000 cash prize adds an extra layer of motivation. Every competitor will give their all, knowing that victory not only brings honor but also a substantial cash reward. The winner of this prestigious event will also earn the Combat Sports Coverage Title. It’s more than just a belt; it represents excellence, dedication, and the ability to rise above the competition.

Heavyweight Championship Main Event: Scotty P vs Nonso Ebede

The main event promises to be a thrilling showdown between two of Texas’ finest grapplers: Scotty P and Nonso Ebede.
