The Ruotolo brothers, Kade and Tye, have just been announced as the latest signing for ONE Championship and the pair of elite grapplers will not only be competing in BJJ but they’ll also be making their MMA debut as well. The news was first announced in a post to the official Instagram account of ONE Championship where the promotion revealed that the pair would be competing in their new submission grappling roster, but the brothers themselves then shared the same image but with the added information that they are also looking at competing in MMA too.
The Ruotolo brothers are two of the most impressive young talents of the modern Jiu-Jitsu era and they’ve already amassed a career’s worth of accolades before they’ve even hit their athletic prime. In fact, the Ruotolo brothers have only been black belts for a matter of months at the time of their signing with ONE Championship and they’re still plenty young enough to reach amazing heights in a professional MMA career.
Their crowning achievement came at the Who’s Number One championships where they both managed to emerge victorious in their respective weightclasses and beat three elite competitors each along the way. Tye Ruotolo also returned at another WNO event to challenge for a second title and made relatively light work of Levi Jones-Leary to be the promotion’s first double champion. It’ll be exciting to see what the Ruotolo brothers can accomplish as they hit their athletic prime and if they are both serious about embarking on an MMA career, it’ll be interesting to see how their elite grappling holds up against strikes.
