The AIGA Champions League Final 2025 is fast-approaching and Acai Republic have just revealed an incredible lineup to represent them. Six of the eight teams had already qualified for the tournament and there were just two spaces left in the bracket, with both of them going out to teams hand-selected by the promotion. Acai Republic are the first to be confirmed and they’ve got experience on this stage already, as they actually finished in second place last time around. The team has undergone a pretty long list of changes though and only one of the competitors is returning from that run.

That’s Kennedy Maciel, who was one of their two representatives at under 70kg back then and is alone in that weight class this time around. One of the biggest names to join the lineup is Mica Galvao, who will be competing in the under 83kg division here. Galvao actually represented Team Modolfo last time around and was a big part of why they won the event, so naturally fans were surprised when he was left off their lineup this year. There’s serious talent in every weight class for the team though really; particularly at either side of Galvao at under 76kg and under 91kg, where Jonnatas Gracie and Lucas ‘Hulk’ Barbosa are competing.

Yatan Bueno is the Acai Republic competitor in the heaviest weight class, representing the team at over 91kg. At the opposite end of the scale, Thalison Soares will be competing at under 60kg and he’s an excellent choice as there aren’t many people out there who can beat him. Diego Sodre is rounding out the lineup as the under 65kg competitor and he’s going to be equally tough to beat. Acai Republic look like a very formidable team on paper and this edition of the AIGA Champions League just looks tougher to predict than ever before, with elite competitors in every weight class for every team so far.
