Mica Galvao is one of the top BJJ competitors of his generation and has been a popular figure in the sport since his teenage years. He began training under his father Melqui Galvao when he was just 2 years old and first started competing at the age of 4. He frequently challenged himself against older or more experienced competitors throughout his teenage years and competed under a variety of different grappling rulesets. Eventually he was promoted to BJJ black belt by his father and also received a Luta Livre black belt, both in 2021. Galvao won ADCC Trials the following year and earned a silver medal in his first appearance at the ADCC World Championship. Since then, he has gone on to establish himself as one of the best grapplers on the planet.
