Ryan Hall and Gordon Ryan have been involved in fiery back and forth over social media, all stemming from the recent ONE Championship title match between their respective training partners, Thanh Le and Garry Tonon. The fight itself was incredibly short, with Tonon being brutally knocked out in the very first round after attempting to leglock Le. After the fight concluded however, Hall decided to share a post to his official Instagram account to congratulate his teammate and also highlight that he took issue with Tonon being apparently disrespectful and dismissive.

Naturally, Gordon Ryan leapt to the defense of his teammate almost immediately and started taking shots at Ryan Hall in a series posts to his official Instagram account, starting with a screenshot of Hall’s original claims:

Garry Tonon himself also shared the same screenshot to his official Instagram account, but with the following caption instead:

“Grapplers that talk shit about other grapplers and won’t compete against them are no better than the fat guy on the couch talking shit about how the quarterback should’ve done a better job on Monday night football. The option to compete against me or any of my teammates has been on the table for years Ryan. Ever since you first felt the need to talk shit about Eddie Cummings years ago when he had a razor thin match in adcc. I don’t like you. And you’re a hypocrite. You’re right about one thing, Thanh is a good guy. And he deserves to be the champ. You on the other hand should probably look at yourself in the mirror before the calling the kettle black. It’s a shame you had to make your “congratulations” to your teammate about your beef with me. Any interviews I gave while speaking about you leading up to this fight where I was extremely respectful, I deeply regret. I knew you didn’t deserve it, should’ve just trusted my gut. If you ever want to crawl out from whatever rock you live under to fight and not just open your mouth I’ll be right here.”

It was this backlash from Gordon Ryan and Garry Tonon, along with several others, that sparked Ryan Hall to re-evaluate his statements and choose to edit the original post with an updated and corrected message:

Additionally, Hall decided to write a lengthy response aimed directly at Tonon where he apologized for the whole interaction. For most people this would signal the end of the beef, but if precedent is anything to go by then Gordon Ryan will likely keep the drama alive for some time and continue taking shots at Hall for the foreseeable future:
