Congratulations are in order for former UFC Bantamweight world champion Ronda Rousey and her husband, fellow UFC veteran Travis Browne, as they welcome their daughter to the world. The pair announced the fact that Rousey was pregnant earlier on in the year and that they would now be expecting their first child together. Browne already has two sons from a previous marriage but Rousey has not had any other children before, spending the majority of her life up until this point focusing on her athletic career as an Olympic gold medalist in Judo, and then a professional MMA fighter.
After losing her undefeated MMA record and the UFC Bantamweight world championship to Holly Holm, Rousey made a brief attempt at a comeback against Amanda Nunes but suffered another knockout loss that sent her into retirement from professional MMA competition. Understandably, Rousey has taken a step away from professional athletics over the past year or more and has taken to streaming video games instead.
During her reign at the top of the MMA mountain, Browne was doing solid work in the promotion’s Heavyweight division and registered some of the biggest wins of his career against the likes of Josh Barnett and Alistair Overeem. Around the time that Rousey retired from competition, Browne fell on hard times and suffered a four-fight losing-streak that saw UFC president Dana White recommend he retire as well, and he hasn’t fought since. Both Travis Browne and Ronda Rousey seem to be incredibly happy in retirement, as they announced the arrival of their baby daughter on their respective official Instagram accounts:
