Rener Gracie has spent decades surrounded by some of the greatest competitors in all of combat sports history and now he’s planning on auctioning off all of the memorabilia that he’s collected over the years in order to help raise money for the victims of bullying. It’s a cause that’s been near to Rener’s heart for quite some time and, along with his push for national police reform, fighting against bullying has been his biggest focus outside of coaching elite grapplers and MMA fighters.
He announced his intentions to raise money for the victims of bullying in a post on his official Instagram account, where fans got a glimpse of all the memorabilia that Rener Gracie has collected over the decades. He showed plenty of unique sets of walkout gear used at UFC events and worn by elite fighters like Ronda Rousey, Lyoto Machida, and his top student Brian Ortega. The auction also includes several prototype versions of t-shirts that never actually made it to market and as a result, have ended up being one of very few available now.
It isn’t just combat sports memorabilia that’s up for grabs either as Rener is also offering up the actual Quikflip hoodie that he used to demonstrate the product on an episode of Shark Tank. This would be a completely unique item as it is also Shark Tank-branded and has never been replicated since. The actual auction itself is taking place on Rener Gracie’s Instagram account and all the proceeds are going towards setting up Jiu-Jitsu scholarships for the victims of bullying.
