Registration is now officially open for the IBJJF No Gi World Championship 2023, and the event is scheduled from December 7th to 9th, 2023. It’s the final major tournament of the calendar year for the IBJJF and it almost always ends up being the final big event that any promotion puts on as well. Although the IBJJF No Gi World Championship is always a big event and a tournament that attracts most of the best competitors from all around the world to compete, some years are just that little bit more special than others.

Generally speaking, most competitors tend to put more stock in winning an ADCC title than an IBJJF No Gi World Championship. Even if they don’t see ADCC as being a bigger title to add to their collection, it certainly complicates matters when determining who the best no gi grapplers are for that year. ADCC doesn’t happen every year though and in years like 2023 when ADCC Trials are taking place to gear up to ADCC 2024, the IBJJF No Gi World Championship is undoubtedly the biggest honor that no gi competitors can win for the year.

This event will undoubtedly attract a ton of elite competitors and when the dust has settled, several of them will have had to put on the performance of a lifetime in order to reach the top of the podium. It’ll be interesting to see if any of the returning champions from 2022 are able to hold on to their titles, or if any new black belts are able to make a big impact instead. One thing is for certain, there’s plenty to look forward to when the IBJJF No Gi World Championship 2023 comes around.

The IBJJF announced the news that registration for the IBJJF No Gi World Championship 2023 was now available in a recent post to their official Instagram account;
