Raquel Canuto and Aurelie Le Vern have just been given the opportunity to become a part of history, as they will be facing each other for the very first female championship at UFC BJJ 4 on December 11th, 2025. This isn’t the only new title that will be awarded at the event either, as the men’s middleweight belt is available when William Tackett faces Ronaldo Junior. It’s the promotion’s inaugural featherweight title that will be on the line when Canuto and Le Vern meet, and both women have more than earned the right to compete for it after some impressive wins for the promotion.
Canuto was one of the most frequent faces at UFC Fight Pass Invitational and she racked up win after win against a series of tough opponents. She competed on almost half of the shows that the promotion put together and she went 4-1 over that run, making her one of the most successful female competitors on their roster. It’s no surprise that they brought her over to UFC BJJ early on, and she made her debut back at UFC BJJ 2; submitting ADCC veteran Morgan Black with a kneebar that ended up being one of the biggest highlights of the entire night.
Le Vern on the other hand only made one appearance back at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 7, where she lost a decision to Helena Crevar. She gave a great account of herself then though and she’s continued to compete on the biggest stages of the sport, including making her UFC BJJ debut on the same event as Canuto. She also got the submission win in her match with Maggie Grindatti Lira; a quick finish against an opponent who is notoriously tough to submit. Now either Le Vern or Canuto will become the first female featherweight champion and with how quickly the promotion’s roster is growing, there will be no shortage of challengers waiting.
