Polaris 36 took place on March 7th, 2026 and there were 3 title-fights topping off a night full of exciting superfights. Michael Tomlinson and Archer Colaco opened the show with a pair of brutal spinelocks and although most of the preliminary card matches ended in decisions, there was still plenty of highlights. Emily Leyva and Martina Zola had one of the toughest matches of the night, and Mikail Rhaillander got a pretty big upset win over Jean Maltese a bit later on. Then in the final match of the preliminary card, Romao Carvalho scored a decision win over top UK competitor Jack Sear.
Sarah Galvao kicked off the main card by trapping Libby Genge in a triangle choke and submitting her with a kimura from there, right before two of the UK’s most popular grapplers took to the mats. Ross Nicholls beat Sam Gibson by decision and that led on to another decision win, where the former Polaris welterweight champion PJ Barch got the nod over Shane Fishman. That was the final match of the night without a title up for grabs too; with the promotion’s vacant featherweight title being put on the line in the next battle between Owen Jones and Gianni Grippo.
Jones put on one of the best performances of her career and beat Grippp by decision, adding another big name to his resume. Then Kendall Reusing returned for her first match in almost 2 years; but she looked as good as she ever has in submitting Anabel Lopez and defending her openweight title. The final match of the night was the one that was arranged most recently, as Shai Gerena earned the right to challenge Ethan Crelinsten for the lightweight title just two weeks ago. It was always going to be an interesting one because Gerena submitted every opponent in the contenders tournament, but Crelinsten secured the rear-naked choke in the first round to defend his title.
