Pit Submission Series 10 took place on December 19th, 2024 and the promotion put together two fun matchups that produced the results that the fans wanted. It might have been a relatively short card of grappling matches but there was a ton of action packed into them. The very first match of the night was a clash between a pair of ADCC veterans, as Daishi Goto was taking on Roosevelt Sousa. It was a grinding match from the start as both men were battling it out in the clinch and neither one was willing to give the other one even the tiniest advantage in hand or head positioning.
Goto shot for a takedown more than once, including one rebounding off the pit wall, but Sousa stuffed each one with authority. Sousa was trying to get Goto to back up into the wall but a quick snapdown from Goto led to Sousa stumbling down into guard. Goto was a little hesitant to engage with Sousa’s seated guard at first and as soon as he did, Sousa wrestled up on a single-leg. He drove Goto into the wall and finished the takedown there, staying heavy in top half-guard and maintaining control for the final minute of the first round.
Sousa pulled guard immediately in the second round and tried to wrestle up again, but Goto was quicker to react and shut it down this time. Sousa mixed it up with an inversion on the legs and tried to use that to wrestle up, before returning to seated guard when Goto disengaged. Sousa came up on a single-leg and finished it against the pit wall again, settling into a smash pass position. Goto tried to elevate him but appeared to tweak his knee, forcing a stop in the action while they checked for injury. They reset and Sousa passed quickly, taking Goto’s back when he turned away and submitting him with a rear-naked choke.
The final match was another interesting one, as top prospect Michael Sainz had a huge opportunity against Alexandre De Jesus. It only took a second for De Jesus to pull guard and he was straight on the offense, threatening Sainz’s legs with inversions. Sainz was able to stay safe and defend the back-attack that came after, but he ended up getting hit with the following sweep. Sainz tried to get straight on the attack himself but De Jesus defended his legs and started to ramp up the pressure from top position. Sainz hit a slick sit-up sweep from reverse de la riva and came up on top to solidify the position, but De Jesus was able to return to standing shortly after.
De Jesus pulled guard but it allowed Sainz to display some heavy passing, before the referee reset them to standing. De Jesus sat to guard again, but this time he swept Sainz early. He walked straight into an ankle-lock and although he was in a little danger for a moment, he did escape and get to passing Sainz’s guard. De Jesus kept going to a knee-slice pass but he couldn’t get to any kind of stable position, as Sainz did an excellent job of retaining his guard until the end of the round. The second round started exactly the same, with De Jesus sitting to guard and attempting some offense.
They were reset to standing briefly, but De Jesus pulled guard again but this time Sainz hit a lovely entry to the saddle from top position. He quickly exposed De Jesus’ heel and the De Jesus was in deep trouble for a moment, but he was able to work his way free eventually. After pulling guard again, De Jesus swept Sainz and actually managed to finish his knee-slice pass this time around. It was only for a brief moment though, as Sainz reguarded and started trying to attack the legs again. He tried to set up a calf-slicer but De Jesus used an underhook to stay heavy on top until the second round ended, winning the split decision.
