Mica Galvao has just revealed that he has passed both of the mandatory PEDs tests that he took throughout 2024. Both tests were administered by USADA as a result of him entering IBJJF competition, and they took place several months apart. The IBJJF only tests the winners of the relevant competitions and in this only applies to the most prestigious tournaments they hold. The IBJJF World Championship has been a tested event for a long time now and in 2024, the promotion decided to return to their older ways by testing winners of the IBJJF Pan Championship for the first time in years.

Galvao was at both of those events this year of course, as he has been on a crusade to become the second person to win the coveted super grand slam after Rubens ‘Cobrinha’ Charles. That meant winning every major IBJJF event during the calendar year before then also winning ADCC 2024. Galvao is already well on his way to achieving that feat, as he has completed the IBJJF Grand Slam by winning every major gi event in 2024. That meant that he had to undergo different PEDs tests after winning the IBJJF World Championship and the IBJJF Pan Championship.

Naturally there was always going to be a lot of attention on Mica Galvao when the results of these PEDs tests came in, as he famously failed a test after winning the IBJJF World Championship in 2022. Prior to that round of testing he was actually the youngest champion in the history of the event, but he was stripped of his title and banned from IBJJF competition for a year. That also meant that he missed out on the 2023 edition, as it took place a few days before his suspension was served. Not only was Galvao triumphant in his return to the event but he was also able to prove that he was clean in the process.

Mica Galvao shared the proof that he had passed both PEDs tests in 2024 in a recent post to his official Instagram account:
