Pit Submission Series 3 is scheduled for March 23rd, 2024 and the promotion has just announced the full lineup for their third event. Just like their first two events they have booked a series of 3 matches that features a mixture of elite grapplers and MMA veterans. The first match will feature one of the founders of B-Team Jiu-Jitsu facing a former two-time PFL world champion, followed by a battle between an MMA legend and a member of the Gracie family, before the final match between a pair of UFC veterans takes place.
First up will be Ethan Crelinsten against Lance Palmer and although Crelinsten should have the advantage thanks to his elite submission grappling experience, Palmer was a four-time NCAA Division I All-American wrestler before his successful MMA career. Gregor Gracie will be up next and he faces StrikeForce veteran Gesias ‘JZ’ Cavalcante in what will likely be a surprisingly tough match, as Cavalcante has been competing in submission grappling pretty regularly over the last few years and has managed to register some impressive wins.
The final submission grappling match of the night in the Karate Combat pit is between top-ranked UFC strawweight Gillian Robertson and fellow promotional veteran Montana De La Rosa. Although De La Rosa has previously competed in the same weight class as Robertson, she’s spent the majority of her career competing at flyweight and will likely have the size advantage in this match. Robertson will have the experience advantage when it comes to professional grappling though, as she regularly competes for various promotions and has registered more submission wins in MMA in less fights than De La rosa.
