BJJ legend and UFC veteran Kron Gracie will now be releasing his first ever instructional at some point in the near future, and filming has already begun. He will be releasing the instructional through BJJ Fanatics, the biggest name in the industry right now and over the last few years. This will no doubt come as big news for many grappling fans, as Kron was one of the biggest names in the sport at one point in time. Although the exact title and content of the instructional hasn’t been confirmed yet, Kron was always known as an incredibly well-rounded competitor and he’s probably capable of teaching pretty much anything to a high level.
As the son of legendary figure Rickson Gracie there was always going to be a ton of expectation placed on Kron to succeed in the sport, and he has even been open about that pressure in the past. He became known as one of the top colored belt prospects in the sport as a teenager, winning IBJJF World Championship titles at both purple and brown belt. Although he had to settle for a silver medal as his highest placement at that tournament at black belt, he hit the highest point of his career when he won the under 77kg division at ADCC 2013.
That was actually the last time that Kron Gracie competed in BJJ, so it’s surprising that he’s releasing his first instructional now over a decade later. He hasn’t been completely absent from competition though, he’s just been focusing on his professional MMA career instead. Kron put together a 4-0 record with 4 finishes on the regional MMA circuit and for RIZIN FF before being called up to the UFC, where he has gone 1-2 and brought his overall record to 5-2 as of his most recent decision loss at UFC 288.
BJJ Fanatics announced the news that Kron Gracie was going to release his first instructional with them in a recent post to their official Instagram account, and it will be available to purchase on their website here.
