Kody Steele is an elite grappler and his MMA career has been steadily building steam for quite some time now, but he’s just announced that he’s been given the opportunity to compete for a UFC contract on an upcoming edition of Dana White’s Contender Series. It’s a big moment for Steele and it’s one that he’s been working towards for quite a few years now, but it’s also one that he’s clearly very well-prepared for. Although no good fighter will ever overlook an opponent, Steele has already shown throughout his career that he has all the tools necessary to compete at the highest level of MMA.
Steele was already a fantastic grappler before he ever actually competed in MMA and his crowning achievement was a Combat Jiu-Jitsu world title, a glimpse of things to come from him. He made his amateur MMA debut pretty late in 2021 and it only took him a few months to have his second fight, moving to 2-0 with 2 finishes and proving that he was ready to turn professional. It was just another few months down the line in the beginning of 2022 that he was able to book his professional MMA debut and the step up in competition didn’t slow him down, as he won that by decision.
Steele spent the entirety of 2022 and 2023 dominating the roster at Fury FC, the only promotion he has ever fought for on the regional MMA circuit. By the time this year came around, Steele was 5-0 as a professional fighter with 3 finishes and he was firmly at the top of the promotion’s welterweight division. He won his 6th fight in equally convincing fashion with an exciting third round finish and immediately attraction attention from the UFC. All the hard work is now about to pay off, as Kody Steele has everything set for his appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series and if his past performances are anything to go by then the he should be leaving with a contract.
