Since retiring from professional MMA competition after the 29th fight of his undefeated career Khabib Nurmagomedov has stepped away from the limelight a little, although now it seems as though he’s momentarily back in it with the release of his first ever instructional. It’s unclear what the instructional will be focused around just yet, although it’s a pretty safe bet that it’ll be focused primarily on his style of wrestling for MMA. That would be the exact same style that not only took him to the peak of the sport with the UFC Lightweight world title, but also ensured that he retired with a perfect record.
Whatever the Khabib Nurmagomedov instructional is based on, it’ll certainly be worth a watch. The Dagestani fighter often trained with some of the best wrestlers that America has to offer and routinely manhandled them even if he was at a significant size disadvantage. Despite not having competed for almost a year since his submission win over Justin Gaethje, Nurmagomedov is still highly-regarded in the world of MMA and he’s still in constant contact with UFC brass who desperately want him to return to the sport.
While fans would no doubt like to see that too, it really does seem as though that ship has sailed and Nurmagomedov has walked off into the sunset. He’s always maintained that the only fight that truly interests him at this point would be against the legendary Georges St-Pierre and at the age of 40, GSP also has no intention of returning to the sport.
The instructional itself will be released on one of the platforms owned by popular BJJ instructional site, BJJ Fanatics, as they announced in a post to their official Instagram that Nurmagomedov would be partnering with both them and sister-site, Dynamic Striking:
