There’s a great main event match between two BJJ legends going down at Fight 2 Win 294, as the promotion has booked Jeff Glover vs Baret Yoshida as the main event. The event takes place on September 20th, 2025 in Los Angeles, California and as usual, there will be dozens of matches featuring local talent. The main draw here will undoubtedly be this matchup though, as Glover and Yoshida are among the most popular lighter competitors of their generation and they both found success at the highest level of the sport. They are both known for their exciting and fast-paced styles, along with their unorthodox attacks.
Glover was one of the biggest proponents of deep half guard and popularised the use of Donkey guard, something that is experiencing a revolution lately and is more commonly known as reverse closed guard now. Yoshida is also a master of a niche area of the sport, as he is one of the best crucifix players in the world and has multiple finishes from that position over high-level opponents. Glover has been a black belt since 2006 and made his ADCC debut the following year, while Yoshida made his first appearance there all the way back in 1999, despite not receiving his black belt until 3 years later.
Their careers had a huge amount of crossover though, as Glover was actively competing at the highest level for a little over a decade and Yoshida still hasn’t stopped testing himself on the mats even today. Despite all that time competing alongside each other and even entering the same weight class at three separate editions of ADCC, they have only actually crossed paths once before. That first match was at Metamoris in 2014 and the ruleset used at the time meant that it ended in a draw, as there was no submission. Now fans will get a conclusion to that over a decade later, as F2W will declare a winner by decision if neither man can find the finish.
