A fantastic 4-man featherweight tournament has just been added to Who’s Number One: Night of Champions on October 1st, 2023 and WNO are really putting everything they have into this event. The promotion’s title will be on the line for the winner, and the lineup of men who will be competing for it are among some of the best grapplers on the planet. It’ll be a big challenge for each of these men because they’ll have to defeat two elite competitors in order to claim the title, and FloGrappling have made a good effort to put together a lineup of BJJ black belts from around the world.
The favorite to win on paper will likely be Diogo Reis, as he is the reigning ADCC world champion at 66kg. It’s always tough to beat Reis but it’s not impossible and any of the three men competing against him are able to do so if they can put it all together on the day. He’s not the only ADCC veteran competing at the event either, as Ashley Williams actually put up a great fight against him in the opening round, and he will be making the journey over from the UK in order to try and bring home the title.
Williams isn’t the only one who’s going to be eager for some revenge against Reis either, as Gabriel Sousa is the silver medalist from the 66kg division at ADCC 2022. The final man competing in the featherweight tournament at WNO: Night of Champions is none other than Keith Krikorian, who coincidentally also competed at 66kg for ADCC 2022. Although Krikorian didn’t come up against any of the other three competitors there, he has fought some of them previously with mixed results. He defeated Sousa at a previous Who’s Number One event and lost a decision to Williams at Grapplefest 12.
FloGrappling announced the news that a 4-man tournament had been booked for the featherweight title at WNO: Night of Champions in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
