The IBJJF have scheduled the second edition of The Crown for November 17th, 2024 and the promotion has now announced the full competitor list for every division. The night will be a lot busier than it was last year, as they have doubled the size of every bracket to include 8 elite grapplers instead of just 4. That will in turn double the number of matches taking place on the night, with there being 42 battles on the mats without taking into account any third-place playoffs. Most of those matches will involve male competitors, as there will be 4 men’s weight classes and two women’s weight classes.
There are some reigning champions from the inaugural edition of The Crown last year who will be returning to defend their titles, but there will also be two divisions without a champion involved. There are however IBJJF World Championship winners in every single bracket and each one has several of the best competitors in the world in their respective weight classes. Each one of these elite grapplers will be fighting tooth and nail for the prestige and prize money available, as last year’s edition paid out over $120,000 among the medalists from each division and each winner added a major title to their resume.
