The IBJJF No Gi European Championship 2025 took place from October 29th to November 2nd, 2025, and there were some exciting results coming from every single division. The most impressive performance undoubtedly came from Pawel Jaworski, as the elite Polish leglocker won gold at both medium-heavyweight and in the absolute. It was Gabrieli Pessanha who did the same in the women’s divisions, as she won her absolute division after getting a default gold at super-heavyweight. This completed an incredible first year as a no gi competitor for Pessanha too, as she has now become the first person to win a no gi double grand slam.

Rising UK star Injana Goodman stood next to Pessanha with a silver medal in the absolute, shortly after she became a champion in her own right at middleweight. Salla Simola and Paige Ivette then won the weight classes between them; at medium-heavyweight and super-heavyweight respectively. Ana Mayordomo was another fresh contender who stood on top of the podium at featherweight, but the other top spots in the women’s divisions were more established competitors. Brianna Ste-Marie won gold at lightweight and Mayssa Bastos did the same at light-featherweight, while it was Thais Loureiro who won a small two-woman bracket at roosterweight.

Back in the men’s divisions there was quite a lot of UK talent on display, starting with Scotland’s Shay Montague winning the roosterweight division. Welshman Ashley Williams won the featherweight division and England’s Faris Ben-Lamkadem stood on top of the podium in a tough heavyweight division. Then although he isn’t British himself, the super-heavyweight division was won by Jorge Gabriel; who trains in England. Gabriel wasn’t the only Brazilian champion though, as Vinicius Inacio came from the US to win gold at light-featherweight. Tito Carle came from even further afield and took the ultra-heavyweight title back to Australia, while Costa Rica’s Julian Espinosa and Norwegian star Tarik Hopstock won gold at lightweight and middleweight respectively.
