Mayssa Bastos NewsMayssa Bastos is one of the best female BJJ competitors of all time and she has won every major IBJJF title available in the gi over the course of her career. Bastos began learning Judo as a child thanks to the influence of her family members before she eventually found BJJ. She started training in the sport under Jair Court initially but as a blue belt she started to broaden her horizons and would regularly train at GF Team. Bastos eventually found her way to Unity Jiu-Jitsu as well and started conducting training camps alongside the best grapplers on the planet. This culminated in Bastos winning the IBJJF World Championship as a brown belt in 2018, where she was promoted to black belt by Julio Cesar on the podium.
