The IBJJF No Gi American National Championship 2024 took place across June 28th and 29th, 2024, attracting some of the best grapplers from all around the country. There were several big names who made good on their status as early favorites, like Osamah Almarwai and Dante Leon, who won gold at roosterweight and middleweight respectively. Leon also returned for the absolute division, but he settled for a silver medal there behind his teammate Max Hanson at the top of the podium. There were plenty more big names in attendance, as the medium-heavyweight division was won by David Garmo and the super-heavyweight division by Austin Baker.
There were some less predictable divisions though, particularly at light-featherweight where Valor Boyer beat Edwin ‘Junny’ Ocasio in the final to win gold. The heavyweight division was unpredictable from the start though, and in the end it was Ty Freeman who emerged victorious in a tough bracket. Margot Ciccarelli also won a difficult division at lightweight, while Amy Campo was the only woman to leave with two gold medals after winning the medium-heavyweight and absolute divisions. She beat Jaine Fragoso in the absolute final shortly after she won the middleweight division, while the roosterweight champion was Amber Rymarz-Freitas.
