The IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Con No Gi International 2024 took place on August 30th, 2024 and there were plenty of top no gi grapplers delivering great results. Roosevelt Sousa was the most successful male competitor, as he won gold medals in the ultra-heavyweight and absolute divisions. He even had to beat heavyweight champion Dory Aoun in the final of the absolute, alongside several other tough competitors in both brackets. There were plenty of other big names stepping on the mats too, with Edwin ‘Junny’ Ocasio winning the light-featherweight division and Josh Hinger winning gold at medium-heavyweight. Richar Nogueira and Lucas Brito also stood out for their impressive performances in winning the lightweight and middleweight divisions respectively, while Santiago Guerra won a tough roosterweight division.
There was no double champion in the women’s divisions, after Tayane Porfirio and Thaynara Dias shared the final in both the super-heavyweight and absolute divisions with different results each time. Perhaps the toughest women’s division was at featherweight, where Jessica Crane managed to come out on top despite facing some of the best grapplers at that weight. Chayse Diekema won a two-woman bracket at middleweight, while the other smaller divisions at middleweight and medium-heavyweight were won by Anabel Lopez and Gabi Schuck respectively.
