The IBJJF American National Championship 2024 took place across June 27th and 28th, 2024 and there were some big names standing on top of the podium when the results came in. Helder Junior won the men’s absolute division, although he had to settle for a silver medal at ultra-heavyweight behind Marcus Ribeiro. Medium-heavyweight champion Francisco Lo took the silver medal in the absolute division and the other top competitor on the podium in the heavier weight classes, Adam Wardzinski, took gold at heavyweight. There were quite a few big names at the opposite end of the scale though, and there was plenty of tough matches there.

Everton Teixeira won gold at roosterweight and Keven Carrasco stood on top of the podium in the light-featherweight division. Top young prospect Zach Kaina won the title at featherweight and Danilo Moreira also left with a gold medal in the lightweight division. There weren’t as many competitors in the women’s divisions but there was still several elite grapplers making an appearance, including double champion Janaina Lebre who won both the lightweight and absolute brackets. She beat the heavyweight gold medalist Melissa Stricker in the final of the absolute and featherweight winner Vitoria Assis settled for a bronze medal. Ana Carolina Lima also competed, and she was able to win gold in the light-featherweight division.
