Main Character Jiu-Jitsu 8 is scheduled for October 18th, 2025 and the promotion has put together a unique main event; a women’s 3 vs 3 team grappling tournament. There’s quite a few exciting superfights up before that but the climax of the show will be these 12 female grapplers battling it out for the team title. There’s some seriously talented women in the bracket too, particularly the 3 who will be representing Team Texas. They all hail from different gyms in the State and wouldn’t normally compete alongside one another, but each one of them is already established as a top competitor and together they are the favorites here.

10th Planet veteran Lauren Sears is the most experienced member of the team but the two young stars who also be representing Texas are equally talented grapplers. Trinity Pun has been a prodigy for several years now and Taylor Hishaw has burst onto the scene more recently, but both of them will be very tough to beat. The team that will be their biggest challenge on paper is Team Island Assassins, and they are led by IBJJF World Championship medalist Emily Nicholson. She is joined by Teshya Alo and Teniya Alo, both of whom are very well-rounded competitors who have the ability to cause an upset against the very best in the tournament.

The final two teams are both actual teams, as Fight Sports and Alliance Jiu-Jitsu have each sent 3 of their best female competitors to the tournament. Analia Diaz, Lorrayne Souza, and Lia Canepa make up the Fight Sports team and although they might not be as well-known as their potential opponents, they’re all exciting competitors. The Alliance team are bringing some incredibly valuable experience to the table with Sophia Nordeno and Laura Sileci, while professional MMA fighter Nikol Aguirre will be a very game opponent no matter who she faces. Although both of these teams would be considered the underdogs, anything can happen in a team tournament.
