Finishers: Saturday Night Main Event took place on April 27th, 2024 and although it was a shorter event than the promotion is normally known for, it still delivered some great results regardless. Three of the promotion’s titles were on the line throughout the card and each one of those matches featured plenty of action from some talented grapplers. The first title up for grabs was in the under 115lbs division and the reigning champion put on a phenomenal display in a very short space of time. Alex Nguyen got the quickest finish of the night, submitting the challenger Sandy Chheng in around 30 seconds and retaining her belt.
The second title-fight was in the under 125lbs division and unfortunately the reigning champion Sophia Cassella had to withdraw from the match on short notice, but Yvonne Tautiva jumped at the chance to replace her against Cindy Ung. It was a fun match and things seemed to be going well for a while until Tautiva had some incredibly bad luck during one scramble, folding her ankle and suffering a clear injury that prevented her from finishing the match. Ung was crowned the champion and although the match had an unfortunate ending, it was still a hard-earned title win for her.
The final title-fight of the night was also in the under 125lbs division, but it was the men’s champion Eric Naples who was up this time. Naples put on a great display and locked up a brutal Z-lock that forced his challenger Mustafa Sadiq to tap, defending his title once again. There were several other notable moments from top prospects in between these matches too, with the incredibly young Maiya Lang locking up a quick armbar finish in just one minute and Sid Tavolaro showcasing his rapid development with a rear-naked choke submission win.
