Finishers Open 14 is scheduled for November 12th, 2023 and the event will now feature a 170lbs qualifier tournament where the winner will get a match booked on the preliminary card of a Who’s Number One event. It’s a huge move by the Finishers Sub-Only, and it’s a huge opportunity for whoever comes out on top in that bracket as they’ll get to compete on the same stage as some of the best grapplers on the planet. This kind of opportunity doesn’t come around every day so they’ll no doubt attract some of the best grapplers from all around the country to enter the division.
There’s no confirmation on exactly which Who’s Number One event the qualifier winner will end up competing on, but Finishers Open 14 actually takes place just a little over two weeks before WNO 21. The full card for that event is still being finalized and has yet to be announced, but the main event will see Gordon Ryan defending his title against Lucas ‘Hulk’ Barbosa. If past events are anything to go by then there will likely be at least one or two more title-fights scheduled for WNO 21 as well, and Kendall Reusing has already thrown her hat in the ring to challenge Nathiely De Jesus for the women’s heavyweight title.
It’ll be interesting to see who decides to compete in the tournament and there will no doubt be plenty of exciting matches on display for the fans. That’s not all though, as Pat Shahgholi will also be taking on Ryan Roth in a main event superfight with the Finishers heavyweight title on the line. All in all it’s set to be an entertaining event with quite a lot on the line for the men on the mats, and it’ll definitely be worth watching.
