John Danaher and his team had a pretty rough night at Fight 2 Win 175 as two of his top competitors, Ethan Crelinsten and his latest black belt Oliver Taza, were both scheduled to compete in the main event and co-main event respectively. Both men were on the receiving end of decision losses as they found themselves unable to secure the finish against their opponents, Crelinsten being against Gabriel Sousa and Taza being against Hiago Adao.
Adao runs his own gym, Arte Suave Jiu Jitsu in Charlotte, North Carolina and was competing in front of a home crowd against Taza. He was able to effectively nullify Taza’s elite leglock game and outlast him to win the decision, although the match was incredibly close and the judges were split on the eventual winner. Crelinsten’s loss was a little more definitive as IBJJF European no gi champion Gabriel Sousa was able to secure a clear decision win in his second consecutive Fight 2 Win superfight.
