Ffion Davies will face Adele Fornarino in the main event of UFC Fight Pass Invitational 10 on March 6th, 2025. They will be meeting in a flyweight bout and it will be a huge moment for women’s BJJ for several reasons. This will actually mark the very first time that two women have served as the main event for a UFC Fight Pass Invitational event and given that the UFC plans to be a major player in the grappling world, this will likely be remembered for years to come. Even without that context, it’s still an incredibly important match in the landscape of Jiu-Jitsu today.

Ffion Davies has been a dominant force in the sport for quite some time now and she’s been a trailblazer for competitors all across Europe. She has continually made history as the first to do many things, most notably when she became the first European ADCC world champion in 2022. That was an amazing achievement in itself and Davies was the favorite to win gold again last year, but she made the shocking decision to compete at the Craig Jones Invitational instead of ADCC 2024. That left the door wide open for a new champion to emerge and it was obvious right from the start that it would set up a huge superfight in the future.

Nobody predicted just how big it was going to be though, as Adele Fornarino made history at ADCC 2024 by becoming the first Australian champion. Not only did she achieve that feat in the very same weight class that Davies was supposed to be competing in, but she put on an incredible performance to become the ADCC 2024 under 55kg champion. She wasn’t content with making history just once at the event though, and Fornarino entered the absolute division as the lightest competitor in the bracket. She stormed to victory in the absolute as well and became the double champion, a feat that no woman has done in almost two decades.

Both Ffion Davies and Adele Fornarino have led the way for their respective continents at the highest level of the sport and it’s a landmark moment for a huge chunk of the world to see them competing at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 10. There’s also some history between them that needs resolving as well, as they actually met for the first and to date only time in the opening round of ADCC 2022. Davies submitted Fornarino on her way to a gold medal that year but a lot has changed in the years since. Fornarino has already said that she’s eager to get revenge and it’ll be interesting to see how the match plays out a second time.

UFC Fight Pass announced the news that Ffion Davies and Adele Fornarino would be headlining UFC Fight Pass Invitational 10 in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
