Ffion Davies will now be facing Margot Ciccarelli for the Polaris bantamweight title at Polaris 34 on November 1st, 2025. It’s one of the biggest matches in the European Jiu-Jitsu scene right now, as both Davies and Ciccarelli are at the top of the sport. It’s also going to be a pretty emotional moment for Davies in particular, as this will act as her send-off from the promotion. She has spent almost her entire competitive career on the Polaris mats, starting from their 6th event back in 2018, and this will be her final match before she embarks upon the next stage of her career with UFC BJJ.
Davies has already held one of the promotion’s belts and in fact, she has been their flyweight champion since the title’s creation in 2019. She has since gone on to accomplish incredible things and set a whole new standard for what is achievable for European grapplers, particularly when she won a gold medal at ADCC 2022. With this being her final match for the promotion, it’s only fitting that they give her the opportunity to become their first female double champion. It’s not exactly going to be easy of course, as Ciccarelli is a fantastic grappler in her own right and she’s been consistently improving in no gi over the last few years.
Davies already holds a pair of wins over Ciccarelli, but both of those matches took place in the gi and the most recent of them was over 3 years ago. A lot has changed for Ciccarelli since then, including registering one of her biggest accomplishments when she won ADCC European Trials in 2024. She might not have competed at as many Polaris events as Davies has, but she’s had many more matches on their mats thanks to her incredible run at the first female Squads event earlier this year. Ciccarelli won 5 straight matches in a row against some of the best female grapplers in North America to earn this title-shot.
