Medusa 6 is scheduled for December 13th, 2024 and the promotion has put together an amazing lineup for two separate eight-woman tournaments on the same night. The event is going to take place as part of the incredible Jiu-Jitsu Overdose long weekend, along with all of Eddie Bravo‘s other promotions as well. Medusa is actually Bravo’s only promotion designed specifically for female grapplers, and it’s actually going to only be using the Combat Jiu-Jitsu ruleset this time around. The first tournament is going to be taking place in the strawweight division and the second in the featherweight division, with both of them featuring some of the best grapplers in those weight classes.
Two of the biggest favorites at strawweight will be Medusa veteran Kiaya Jackson and top 10th Planet competitor Lauren Sears. As always with a Combat Jiu-Jitsu event, there’s going to be plenty of MMA fighters in the strawweight lineup for Medusa 6. Randi Miley and Celine Haga will be coming in with plenty of fight-experience between them, while Alandria Rosales also has a catch wrestling background that should come in handy. Rounding out the strawweight bracket after that is Valerie Wong, Yasemin Martinez, and Melisa Alers. There’s also going to be a superfight between Rafaela Schuenck and amateur MMA veteran Jenna Deatherage.
The second bracket at featherweight also has some elite competitors who will be top contenders from the start, most notably the reigning Medusa bantamweight champion Aislinn O’Connell. She’ll have some tough opposition from Katie Bochenek and Canadian grappler Sarah Tonin, along with the other 5 competitors in the bracket too. Amy Derwanz and Jade Robledo will also be ones to watch as the bracket progresses, while Kerry Isom is a notoriously challenging opponent. The final entrants are Zaira Cousins and Taylor Maudlin, both of whom will be giving it everything they can to make an impact here. There’s also going to be a superfight at this weight class and although Stephanie Cline is involved, her opponent has yet to be confirmed.
The full lineup for both the strawweight and featherweight divisions at Medusa 6 was announced in a recent post to the promotion’s official Instagram account:
