Grapplefest 16 is set for July 1st, 2023 and the promotion has put together an excellent lineup for the main card that includes two title-fights. The main event is an excellent matchup between two ADCC 2022 veterans from different weightclasses who will be fighting for the promotion’s under 80kgs title. PJ Barch has been the reigning champion since winning the belt back at Grapplefest 12 and he’ll be putting his belt on the line against one of B-Team Jiu-Jitsu‘s top young grapplers, Jacob Rodriguez. The second title-fight is for the currently vacant under 60kgs women’s belt and it features another competitor from ADCC 2022, as Adele Fornarino will be challenging one of the UK’s most popular female competitors in Vanessa English.

There are several other exciting matches scheduled for the main card of Grapplefest 16 as well, including a tough battle between Rodriguez’s teammate Damien Anderson and the under 66kg silver medallist from ADCC 2022, Gabriel Sousa. Daniel DeGroot and Tommy Yip will be meeting in a battle of two of Europe’s most popular lighter competitors while a pair of top prospects, Ellis Younger and Davis Asare, will no doubt produce some fireworks as well. The final match of the main card will be a fun one for the fans in attendance, as UK MMA legend James Thompson will be taking on popular Grapplefest veteran Mark Macqueen.
