Balance And Flow Invitational 8 is scheduled for October 13th, 2024 and the promotion has put together a fantastic lightweight tournament for the event. There’s a series of great superfights that have also been booked, but naturally the main attraction will be the 8 elite grapplers battling it out for the Balance And Flow Invitational 155lbs title. There’s a great cash prize on the line for the tournament too, as there’s a minimum of $1,500 available for the winner. Along with the regular prize, the winner will earn a $500 bonus for every match they finish in under 10 minutes and a $200 bonus for every submission they land after 10 minutes.
It’s a great way to incentivise competitors to finish their matches as quickly as possible, but with the quality of grapplers involved that shouldn’t be much of an issue anyway. One of the early favorites is multiple-time IBJJF No Gi World Championship winner and ADCC veteran Gianni Grippo. Although things will be far from easy for Grippo, he’s definitely the competitor who has managed to reach the highest level of success. Closely behind him is Frank Rosenthal, an elite leglocker who has made a name for himself on the professional grappling circuit over the years and won several tournaments similar to this.
Sam Vorbe and Andrew Franco have also been invited to compete in the lightweight tournament at Balance And Flow Invitational 8 and both of them have some experience competing under the promotion’s ruleset in the past. Veteran grappler Dennis Pressey Jr will be tough to beat as well, while brown belt competitor Dylan O’Regan will no doubt be eager to prove himself against some of the elite opposition involved. He’s not alone either, as exciting brown belts Adam Bejaoui and Rory Connors are rounding out the bracket and representing Essential Jiu-Jitsu and Connors Martial Arts Academy respectively.
The full lineup for the lightweight tournament at Balance And Flow Invitational 8 was announced in a series of posts to the promotion’s official Instagram account:
