Enyo Grappling 4 took place on September 21st, 2023 as the promotion worked in conjunction with BJJ Summer Week in order to stage an event during their annual training camp. Enyo put together a great lineup for an under 70kg grand prix tournament, as 8 women were all going to battle it out for the title. Most of the competitors were invited to the tournament, while Irina Brodski had to win a contenders tournament the day before in order to book her place in the bracket. She had the unfortunate luck of drawing the early favorite, Maggie Grindatti, in the opening round and Grindatti showed the skill difference between them during the match.
Grindatti won that match by submission and managed to finish her second opponent, Raquel Ferreira, in equally impressive fashion. On the opposite side of the bracket, Gamila Kanew submitted Hayley Carter in the opening round and won a tough decision over Martina Zola in the semi-final. The final was an equally dominant performance by Grindatti and although she couldn’t get the finish this time, she was in control for almost the entirety of her battle with Kanew. Grindatti took the title home and her work on the mat cemented the fact that she belongs alongside the highest level of BJJ competitors possible.
