Subversion: Reign is scheduled for April 6th, 2024 and the promotion has decided to crown another three champions in the final matches of the night. The promotion is quickly becoming the biggest stage in the Australian professional grappling scene and their fifth event will be no exception. Josh Saunders became their inaugural heavyweight champion at their last event and this latest one has the men’s lightweight title, and both the women’s featherweight and flyweight titles on the line. There are also a number of exciting matches taking place before that as well, including the winners of the Subversion qualifier tournaments that will take place just two weeks before.
The main card before the Subversion title-fights will feature an exciting match between Lucas Kanard and CJ Heske, along with Gabriel Sousa making the trip to Australia to face off against David Stoilescu. These matches will provide plenty of entertainment and a great build-up to the three main attractions. The women’s flyweight title is the first one to be put on the line and it will see one of Australia’s top competitors, Adele Fornarino, taking on the talented Olivia Ukmar for the vacant belt.
Next up in the Subversion: Reign lineup is the co-main event, where Ashley Williams will be facing Ali El Khier for the promotion’s lightweight title. The main event is going to be one of the most interesting matches of the night, as Ffion Davies is making the journey all the way to Australia to put her status as the best no gi grappler in her weight class to the test against Nikki Lloyd-Griffiths. Both women are fantastic competitors and although Davies is the favorite, Lloyd-Griffiths will have the home-field advantage and she’s always tough to beat.
