EBI 21: The Absolutes took place on June 2nd, 2024 and the promotion delivered fantastic results all night long, as every competitor gave it everything they had. The event was arranged to celebrate their 10th anniversary and it really didn’t disappoint. With no returning champions in the bracket there was a guarantee that someone new would be crowned, and the early favorite was Dan Manasoiu. He delivered on that promise right from the start, submitting his first opponent in just 29 seconds and his second in a little over a minute.
Manasoiu racked up his third submission in regulation time when he beat his teammate, Giancarlo Bodoni, in the semi-final and secured his place in the final. Ryan Aitken had an incredible performance on the other side of the bracket though, submitting two of his opponents in regulation time before submitting the gigantic Franco Pana in EBI overtime. He threw everything he had at Manasoiu over the course of their match and knew just how to make EBI overtime count then too. Aitken locked up a brutal choke against Manasoiu and forced him to tap, earning his place among a tiny handful of competitors who have won an EBI absolute championship.
