Dillon Danis made his professional boxing debut against Logan Paul on October 14th, 2023 and was disqualified in the final round after a brawl broke out. It’s not all that surprising that there was some chaos in the ring seeing as both men have been taking shots at one another on social media during the build-up to the fight. The booking was announced a little over two months in advance of the event and almost immediately, Danis started to wage war against Paul on social media. His relentless trolling online that included targeting Paul’s fiancee Nina Agdal ended up with him getting sued, although that did little to actually stop him.

Naturally both men had some big talk coming into the fight, and a lot of fans were interested in seeing what happened when they got in the ring. After the first two rounds of their fight were over, it seemed clear that the answer was not much at all. Danis was simply blocking punches and crowding Paul, while Paul was at least attempting to fight and was winning the rounds even if he wasn’t doing much damage. Danis even dropped to his back and invited Paul into his guard at one point in the third round, although it was clear that both the referee and the crowd didn’t appreciate it.

Danis attempted some offense in the fourth round, but still not anywhere near as much as you’d expect in a professional boxing match. Paul responded by attempting to counter him, but this just meant that the output slowed from both men. Paul still did enough to win this round too and continue winning the fight though, as Danis had thrown 9 punches across the first four rounds. Danis held onto a headlock after the round ended, receiving even more audible criticism as a result. The fifth round saw the most offense Danis had put up for the entire fight, but it just made things easier for Paul to win the round as he was now able to actually attempt to box a little more comfortably.

Paul came out for the sixth and final round safe in the knowledge that he was in practically zero danger of losing the fight, so he started to open up a lot more than before. Danis shot in for a double-leg at one point and couldn’t even take Paul down, and the referee warned him once again. After a little more running away, Danis actually attempts to guillotine Paul but slips off him and falls to the canvas. Paul decides to land a strike to his downed opponent, and it’s clear that both men have lost any regard they had for the rules they were supposed to be competing under.

The boxing referee tries to intervene but Dillon Danis jumps up and immediately chases after Paul in a moment of rage that sparks a brawl and gets him disqualified. Paul’s security guards jump in the ring to defend him and Danis starts throwing punches at them, while other members of both men’s entourage jump into the ring to either cool things down or make things worse. The brawl rages on for a little while and the fight had not actually officially ended before it broke out, so the end result is that Dillon Danis is disqualified.

It was a sad end to what was actually a pretty sad fight, as Danis showed that he had no real intention of actually attempting to win and Paul showed that he isn’t skilled enough to finish someone who isn’t putting up any offense. Although it’s fair to blame Dillon Danis for how the fight went, it doesn’t seem entirely fair that he is the only person disqualified as a result of the brawl. While he obviously should not have jumped on a guillotine or shot for a takedown, Paul should not have struck a downed opponent. Even after that Danis should not have jumped up and chased Paul without the referee continuing the action, but Paul’s security guard should not have intervened either.

Several angles of the brawl that broke out and resulted in Dillon Danis being disqualified from his boxing match with Logan Paul have since been uploaded to the official Twitter accounts of Misfits Boxing and others:
