Combat Sports Coverage 29 is scheduled for September 28th, 2024 and the event will see four new champions crowned across multiple tournaments. That isn’t all either, as they’ve also announced a slate of more than 30 superfights that spread out throughout the night. The biggest attraction is undoubtedly going to be the main event, as two undefeated CSC veterans will be going head to head for the under 135lbs purple belt title. Top B-Team Jiu-Jitsu prospect Ally Wolski might be more well known but her opponent Gianna Bailey is an incredibly talented young grappler coming out of Carlson Gracie Houston.
The co-main event will be taking place immediately before that and it’s a battle between another pair of promotional veterans, with the under 135lbs submission only teen title on the line. James Ortiz is a phenomenal talent who has competed for several promotions already, including multiple tournament titles at CSC. He’ll be facing off against the only teen grappler who has a win over him at the promotion, Kai McKinney. McKinney also has a ton of experience with gold medals under a range of different rulesets and is currently undefeated on the CSC stage.
The tournaments are equally interesting too, with the 120lbs blue belt and under bracket involving some of the most entertaining new female BJJ competitors from all over Texas. The top contenders to take home the title are likely Maria Victoria, Jackie Fernandez, Elizabeth Moreno, and Emma Skinner. Rounding out the bracket is Alexis Charles, Abbie Harris, Kyrsten Oliver, and Michelle Li; and they will all be incredibly tough opponents even though they might not have the same resume as the other half of the division. With several different styles represented in the bracket, there’s plenty of interesting potential matchups.
The other tournament taking place is a four-person yellow belt boy’s bracket that will crown an under 95lbs champion. They’re all very early on in their respective grappling careers but each of the four kids BJJ competitors involved will be ones to watch for the future. The first match involves CSC veteran Gehrig White and his latest opponent Weston Ramon, while the other side of the bracket features Armando Martinez taking on Drake Spurlock. There are plenty of other fun matches taking place on the Combat Sports Coverage 29 card and all of it will be available to watch live on September 28th, 2024, on FloGrappling, click here to subscribe and watch.
