The Combat Jiu-Jitsu Featherweight World Championship 2024 is scheduled for March 23rd, 2024 and the promotion has put together a stacked lineup with several incredibly talented competitors. This is actually the first edition of the Combat Jiu-Jitsu World Championship for the year and no doubt everyone in the tournament will be looking to make a big statement. The belt will definitely be strapped around a new waist too, as the reigning champion Keith Krikorian will not be returning to defend the title he won back in 2021. It was Tom Halpin who held the belt before him after winning it in 2020, but he won’t be attempting to regain the title either.
Instead there is a whole new lineup competing at the Combat Jiu-Jitsu Featherweight World Championship 2024 and there are several exciting grapplers who should produce some fireworks. Zack Schneider is going to be one of the top seeds in the division, as he’s got plenty of experience and actually made it all the way to the final of the bantamweight edition of the tournament last year. He isn’t the only man in the bracket who is familiar with the Combat Jiu-Jitsu ruleset and one of the promotion’s most prolific competitors, Gabriel Austin Daffron, will be looking for revenge against Schneider after the last time they met.
One of the other top contenders for the title is Julian Espinosa, a fantastic grappler who has been making a big impact over the last year or so by registering several impressive performances for different promotions. Several Combat Jiu-Jitsu national champions have entered the tournament too, with David Weintraub, Manuel Priego, Tomas Torres, Alexis Torres, and Brandon Alcantara all standing a good chance of winning. There are also a pair of men who earned their place in this tournament by winning a qualifier tournament first, as Mauricio Gomez won the US Open qualifier and David Garcia won the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu qualifier.
Rounding out the Combat Jiu-Jitsu Featherweight World Championship 2024 lineup is Rodolfo ‘Fito’ Rubio, Spencer Mumme, Matt Masch, Michael Cyr, and Rey De Leon; all of whom will present very tough challenges for whoever they face. In between rounds of the tournament there will also be a pair of special matches as well, with MMA veteran Manny Vazquez facing Gustavo Mercado and Juan Obregon meeting Brady Branscum in a battle between two entertaining grapplers.
The full lineup for the Combat Jiu-Jitsu Featherweight World Championship 2024 was announced by the promotion in a series of posts to their official Instagram account:
