The 2021 edition of the Combat Jiu Jitsu Featherweight Worlds has just reached it’s conclusion and one of the top 10th Planet competitors, Keith Krikorian, has been crowned the new champion. Krikorian did not have an easy path to the final but he managed to submit all three of his first opponents within the regulation time period, starting off by heelhooking Tycen Lynn in the opening round. He moved on to face Gabriel Daffron and was able to take his back and sink in the rear-naked choke, before doing exactly the same to Laird Anderson in the semi-final.

The final matchup saw him face Jordan Holy, who had proven himself to be the proud owner of a phenomenal leglock game as he submitted all three of his opponents by heelhook on his way there. It was a tough battle between the two that required the use of EBI overtime to separate them, but Krikorian put his back attack skills to good use by submitting Holy with a rear-naked choke to win the title. Perhaps the most talked about match of the event however was actually a superfight between Craig Jones and UFC veteran Donald Cerrone.

Despite the fact that Cerrone had laid out a gameplan to defeat Jones, the match went exactly as most would have expected as Jones put on a flawless display en route to submitting Cerrone with a rear-naked choke. The other superfight suffered a number of changes as fellow UFC veteran Rashad Evans was originally scheduled to compete against Ryan Aitken, but was forced to withdraw with only a matter of days to go before the event. The match was scrapped altogether and replaced by Urijah Faber against Elias Anderson, although Faber also withdrew and was replaced by Erik Goyito Perez in the end. Perez put up a good fight but proved to be outmatched against Anderson, who locked up a tight armbar to force the tap within regulation time.
