The ADCC Vancouver Open 2025 took place on October 25th, 2025 and the promotion is doing a great job of developing the talent levels in Canada by providing them with some tough competition under ADCC rules. There was only one double champion in the end, as 10th Planet purple belt Tianna Lund made a huge statement. She originally competed at intermediate and took gold the under 75kg division with 3 wins, but stepping up to the absolute division proved to be a great decision. She submitted top black belt competitor Aislinn O’Connell along the way to winning it, finishing her day with a total of 8 wins and 5 by submission.
Another purple belt from Canada won the men’s absolute division, as Caleb Bears submitted 4 of his 5 opponents to take the title there. He originally went 1-1 at under 76kg but his run in the absolute was excellent, and it included a submission win over veteran black belt Tanner Weisgram in the final. Weisgram wasn’t the only seasoned competitor hitting the mats either, as the over 100kg division was won by Corey Guitard; who also won his masters division and finished the day with a 100% finishing rate. One of his peers from the same generation of Canadian talent, Max Li, also took gold in his division at under 83kg.
