High Rollerz is one of the most unique promotions in the landscape of professional Jiu-Jitsu and for HR 10 they’re putting together a fantastic submission-only tournament featuring sixteen of the best competitors under 160lbs, including Bellator Featherweight world champion AJ McKee. He isn’t the only Bellator veteran in the mix either, as Cris Lencioni will also be competing at the event and the pair will actually be meeting in the very first round. It seems as though the event will serve as something of a reunion for Bellator fighters as Georgi Karakhanyan and Noad Lahat will face off with Albert Morales and UFC veteran Jon Cruz Tuck respectively in the opening round.
10th Planet will also be very well-represented as Jordan Wirth takes on Raymond Cardenes and ADCC North American East Coast trials silver medalist Keith Krikorian will face off against Dane Leak in the first round. Kieran Kichuk will be kicking off the whole tournament as he comes up against Demian Maia black belt Rafael Domingos before anyone else competes. On the opposite side of the bracket, Veteran grappler Bill Cooper will be competing against William Wolk, and fellow MMA fighter Javier Garcia takes on Jay Enoch.
Although AJ McKee has less competitive grappling experience than everybody else in the field at High Rollerz 10, he still stands as one of the favorites to take home the grand prize regardless. This is owing primarily to the elite level of Jiu-Jitsu he’s put on display throughout his undefeated professional MMA career. After all, he’s the current Bellator Featherweight world champion and he has a perfect 18-0 record with seven of those wins coming by way of submission, including the JitsMagazine 2020 MMA Submission of the year.
The full High Rollerz 10 event, including the sixteen-man 160lbs tournament featuring AJ McKee, will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel for the promotion on Saturday 11th December, click here to watch.
