UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6 will take place on March 3rd, 2024 and the main and co-main events have just been revealed. Both of those matches will feature some of the best grapplers on the planet and two of the leaders of B-Team Jiu-Jitsu will be competing at the event. There’s no news on the rest of the event just yet but if past UFC Fight Pass Invitational events are anything to go by then these won’t be the only battles between elite BJJ black belts. The promotion has previously put together either an absolute tournament or a series of superfights to fill out the rest of their cards.
The main event is a battle between veteran competitors who have both reached the highest level of the sport and managed to stay there for a number of years. Craig Jones will be returning to UFC Fight Pass Invitational once again, and he’s facing off against one of the biggest legends of American Jiu-Jitsu in Rafael Lovato Jr. Both of these men were invited to the under 99kg division at ADCC 2022 and they both put on some impressive performances on the mats as well. Jones ended up with a silver medal in the division while Lovato Jr. narrowly missed out on a medal of his own and finished in fourth place.
The co-main event of UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6 features another co-founder of B-Team Jiu-Jitsu taking on the reigning IBJJF no gi absolute world champion. While Nicky Rodriguez has never competed in IBJJF tournaments at a high level, he’s beaten a number of world champions from that ruleset over the course of his career. Roberto Jimenez is not just any world champion though, he’s one of the most exciting grapplers around and he’s been able to beat much bigger opponents several times before.
UFC Fight Pass announced the main and co-main event for UFC Fight Pass Invitational 6 in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
