Andrew Tackett will now become the first person to make his second UFC BJJ title-defense, as he will be meeting Elijah Dorsey with his welterweight title on the line at UFC BJJ 4 on December 11th, 2025. It’s also going to be a great moment for Tackett personally, because it’s also the first opportunity for both him and his brother William Tackett to compete for UFC BJJ titles together at the same event. In fact, this is just one of three title-fights that are taking place at UFC BJJ 4. William Tackett faces Ronaldo Junior for the vacant middleweight belt, and the promotion is crowning their first female champion in the featherweight division when Raquel Canuto takes on Aurelie Le Vern.
The Tackett brothers have competed together in the UFC BJJ bowl before at least, as they both won their respective matches at UFC BJJ 2. The older Tackett brother was getting revenge against an old rival on the main card, shortly before Andrew made his first successful title-defense against Renato Canuto. It was a pretty quick turnaround for Tackett too, as he only won his welterweight belt weeks before by submitting Andy Varela at UFC BJJ 1. Not only will he be looking to continue his title-reign but he also has a very impressive record to protect; as he’s 4-0 with 4 submissions at UFC BJJ, including the first season of ‘Road to the Title’.
Dorsey is a very tough opponent for anyone of course and although this will be his UFC BJJ debut, he’s earned the title-shot with some excellent performances elsewhere. He’s been a top competitor for a while now but he really broke through with his phenomenal run at the ADCC North American East Coast Trials in 2023, where he beat two ADCC veterans to win a stacked under 77kg division. That gave him the opportunity to make his debut at ADCC 2024 and he finished fourth, even beating two-time champion JT Torres along the way. It’s great matchmaking by the promotion, as Dorsey is one of just a handful of welterweights in the world who would be such a good opponent for Tackett.
UFC BJJ announced the news that Andrew Tackett will defend his welterweight title against Elijah Dorsey at UFC BJJ 4 in a recent post to their official Instagram account:
