The ADCC Phoenix Open 2024 took place on May 18th, 2024 and there were plenty of fun matches taking place between some top competitors. One of the most notable matches came in the final of the under 83kg division, as Nick Ortiz managed to beat top 10th Planet representative Kyle Chambers 8-0 on points to take home the gold medal there. That wasn’t the only battle between big names at the event though, as the final of the under 100kg division saw New Wave Jiu-Jitsu competitor Abraham La Montagne submitting Fellipe Trovo in impressive fashion. Trovo returned later on to compete in the absolute division and left with another silver medal after being submitted by Austin Baker that time around.
There were a fair few interesting matches in the women’s divisions too and the most popular competitor featured in them was Nora Schultz. She’s made a name for herself recently with some great performances and she won a gold medal in the under 70kg division here before returning to earn a silver medal in the absolute, with her only loss of the day coming against Jennifer Case. It was a great day of high-level grappling across every single mat and there were plenty of talented young prospects competing in the advanced kids divisions before the elite adult competitors took to the mats as well.
