This article is part of our week of ADCC 2022 coverage. To get live results, play by play, and commentary, we’ll have a live updates article running all weekend.

The ADCC Open delivered the sport’s most exciting ruleset to the masses in Las Vegas, just a matter of days before the 2022 ADCC world championships take place. The event saw a little controversy as fights broke out, but all in all it was a fantastic day of competition featuring athletes of all ages and some incredibly talented grapplers who have competed at the highest levels of the sport in the past, or will certainly be in the future. Not only did the event feature ADCC veterans like Hall of Fame legend Baret Yoshida competing, but there were also several exciting young prospects to watch for the future like Helena Crevar and Caleb Tackett.

While there was something to watch for everyone in the stands and more than enough room for everyone to compete with over a hundred different divisions being run, most of the attention was on the adult pro divisions. The most impressive performance of the day at the ADCC Open came from Andrew Tackett, who won both the 76kg weightclass and the absolute division shortly before his older brother William attempts to bring home similar results in the 77kg division at ADCC 2022.
