The ADCC North American East Coast Trials 2025 took place on November 15th and 16th, 2025 and 5 more competitors delivered the results they needed to secure their place at ADCC 2026. There were no invites on the line for female competitors unfortunately, but there was still a high level of competition taking place. One of the biggest storylines actually came from the women’s over 65kg division, as 13 year-old Joslyn Molina became the youngest medalist in ADCC Trials history when she won a bronze medal. The only woman to beat her on the weekend was the eventual champion in that weight class, veteran black belt Maia Matalon.
The women’s under 65kg division was won by another experienced competitor, Morgan Black, while rising star Ana Mayordomo was the one to win the stacked under 55kg division. Even though these 3 women don’t automatically qualify for ADCC 2026; their wins here secured their travel for the next edition of the North American Trials next year, where they can then win an invite. Not only that, but historically the winners of the first edition of Trials have been top contenders in the second too. They may not get a second title, but they’ll almost certainly end up on the podium at the very least.
In the men’s divisions it was primarily the veterans who ended up winning, other than in the under 77kg division. That’s where Pedigo Submission Fighting product ‘Little’ Jacob Bornemann managed to win gold, going the distance in all 7 matches without conceding a single point. He wasn’t the only PSF competitor to earn an invite either, as Brandon Reed won 5 matches against tough opponents and even secured a pair of submissions to win at over 99kg. Reed will now be competing at ADCC for the second time in his career, just like the other 3 men who won gold at East Coast Trials this year.
Achilles Rocha also shut down his division at under 99kg, as he put on a tactical masterclass to win all 5 of his matches without conceding a point either. Then at under 88kg, Jon ‘Thor’ Blank won gold with a fantastic run of 5 submission finishes in 6 matches. Blank spent less than 20 minutes on the mat in total, and now he will return to ADCC for the first time since 2019. The final champion at under 66kg was Dorian Olivarez, who once again terrorised his division with fantastic guard passing. He finished 4 of his 7 opponents and showed off an incredible pace all throughout the weekend, beating some of the best in the world at that weight.
