The inaugural ADCC Brazilian National Championship took place across November 1st and 2nd, 2025 and the promotion crowned their very first Brasileiro champions. Melqui Galvao brought a ton of talent to the tournament and several of his competitors delivered big results. Evellyn Azevedo was particularly impressive at under 60kg, as she clean-swept the division with 3 submissions in 3 matches. Two of his male competitors, Kaua Gabriel and Alessandro Botelho, also ran through their divisions and took home gold medals with 4 wins each at under 70kg and under 76kg respectively. The other big name in the men’s divisions was ADCC veteran Henrique ‘Ceconi’ Cardoso, and he also won gold in the under 100kg division by beating 3 opponents.
Then in the women’s divisions, Yara Soares was probably the most popular grappler competing and she beat both of her opponents to win the over 70kg division. She even beat Agatha Nigro, who went on to win the absolute division in Soares’ absence. That was an impressive feat in itself though, as Nigro is just 19 years old and she won 3 matches in a row against tough opponents to win that division. The men’s absolute champion was Lucas Torres, but he managed to come away with two gold medals after winning the under 83kg division too. Torres racked up an impressive undefeated run of 9 matches in total to become the double champion, finishing 4 of them by submission too.
